Ruta stands out with her virtuosic dexterity and a seamless blend of her stunning vocals with intricate, tasteful guitar solos and exceptional compositions. Ruta Di is quickly becoming one of the most exciting voices on the contemporary
jazz scene. Born and raised in Vilnius, Ruta began her musical journey as a
classical pianist before discovering her passion for jazz guitar as a teenager.
After finishing her studies at the Lithuanian Music Academy, she moved to
London, where she has lived and created for more than a decade. It was in
London that she embraced singing and built her unique sound from the ground up,
collaborating with a vibrant community of musicians.
Praised by Walker Jazz Magazine in Japan for her exceptional guitar skills, Ruta stands out with her virtuosic dexterity and a seamless blend of her stunning vocals with intricate, tasteful guitar solos and exceptional compositions. Her sound is a rich and inventive fusion of jazz, rock, classical, and Lithuanian folk influences that resonate deeply with audiences.
Ruta recently performed at Cheltenham International Jazz Festival, EFG London Jazz Festival, Rochester International Jazz Festival, and was honoured to represent emerging England-based jazz artists at the Jazz Promotion Network Conference. She received funding from the Lithuanian government to create her third album, which will be released later this year.
Joining Ruta on stage are three phenomenal musicians: Jakub Cywinski - a superb double bassist known for his rich tones and superb solos and Finn Genockey - a versatile drummer, composer, and band leader who brings dynamic rhythms and creative energy to the performance. Adding to the excitement, there will be a special guest - saxophonist Duncan Eagles, London- based saxophonist who performs regularly at venues and festivals all over the world.
