Join us
for an electrifying evening of live trumpet, soulful house and global rhythms.
London
based artist Jay
Phelps has performed with some of the world’s top artists such as
Wizkid, Amy Winehouse and Wynton Marsalis. With an instantly recognisable warm
and projecting trumpet tone, Canadian-born Phelps is a household name on the
international Jazz scene with worldwide streams exceeding 700k and his DJ sets
are becoming legendary.
Phelps’
DJ set is an energetic combination of Future beats, Afro House, Amapiano, Baile
funk and Soulful House, but the unique selling point is his trumpet. Jay blends
his signature trumpet sound to the music, making his sets come to life. He
plays sets at iconic venues and parties including Soul in the Horn, The Brick
Lane Jazz Festival, Village Underground, Hootananny, 91 Livingroom, Peligoni
Club, Café 1001, Secret Garden Party, Ronnie Scott’s and Jack Solomon's.
'What Jay
brings to the stage is an energy and a level of originality that is hard to
find.' Brick Lane Jazz Festival

>> Weather
<<
The performance
will continue regardless of the weather unless unsafe. Please plan for all
eventualities and remember to bring a waterproof layer and a warm jumper. We prefer
waterproofs to umbrellas because umbrellas can obstruct views. Don’t forget
that if you are on a blanket the ground may be wet so make sure you have a
blanket with a waterproof side or bring a plastic sheet. There are no
refunds for bad weather, unless it is deemed to be dangerous, in
which case we will cancel the show and refund tickets. Patrons will be notified
as soon as possible.
We are
situated quite high on the hill, so we recommend bringing a jumper or extra
blankets to stay warm as the sun sets.
>> Food and Drink <<
The café
/ bar will be open selling light snacks and drinks before the performance
starts and during the interval.
You are
also welcome to bring your own picnic to enjoy on the Tea Lawn as you watch the
performance.
